Meet Our Physicians
Steven Bond, M.D.
Dr. Bond founded Farmington Valley Orthopedic Associates in 1983. At that time it was the only orthopedic practice dedicated to serving the needs of the Farmington Valley.
Prior to opening the practice, he served as full-time faculty at the University of Connecticut Health Center, and was the acting chief of the Orthopedic Service at the Newington Veteran’s Hospital.
Dr. Bond attended Brown University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology, continuing his studies at New York Medical College, graduating in 1976 with his doctorate degree in medicine. He served an internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC in general surgery, and came to Connecticut where he completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut and its affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Bond is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He evaluates and treats patients of all ages for general orthopedic and sports related conditions. Dr. Bond specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Bond has privileges at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Surgery Center in Hartford.
Dr. Bond is a long-time resident of Simsbury. He enjoys fly fishing, skiing, rowing, and is a skilled do-it-yourselfer at home.
